A deputy and a local resident will be tried in Kherson region

A deputy of Skadovsk city council and a resident of Kherson region will be tried for collaboration

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The post states that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, indictments were sent to court against a deputy of the Skadovsk City Council and a resident of the region. They are accused of voluntarily holding positions in illegal authorities established in the temporarily occupied territory, in particular in the occupation administration of the aggressor state (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that in 2022, the 43-year-old deputy betrayed the interests of the community and became the "deputy" head of the occupation administration of Skadovsk. She organized the educational process according to Russian standards, participated in public events in support of the aggressor country, etc. The second defendant is a 46-year-old resident of the village of Shyroke, Skadovsk district. He voluntarily collaborated with the enemy and headed the local occupation administration. Both defendants performed organizational, administrative and economic functions. They contributed to the legalization of the occupation regime and made decisions of local importance.

The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by the SBU Office in Kherson region.

Earlier it was reported that in Kherson region, two residents of the region who held senior positions in the occupation authorities in the region were served with suspicion notices. According to the investigation, in September 2022, the 73-year-old suspect took up the position of the so-called "head of the Dmitrovsky territorial administration of the Kakhovka municipal district". While holding the pseudo-position, he was engaged in the employment of people in the occupation administration and utilities, organized and controlled the replacement of Ukrainian documents with Russian ones by local residents. The second suspect, a 31-year-old man, became the so-called "deputy head of the Genichesk Regional State Administration" in May 2023.
