In Mykolaiv, a tender for the repair of cages for stray animals was awarded without a competitive procedure and to a company whose services were often used by the client.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the Prozorro procurement system.

The tender for the repair of animal cages was announced by the Center for Animal Protection. The expected cost of the work was over 2 million hryvnias.

This is not the first time the company has received contracts from the Center for Animal Protection. In 2023, they already repaired animal enclosures for more than a million hryvnias and repaired power supply networks.

In 2021, the Animal Protection Center also used the services of this contractor twice. They carried out routine repairs to the enclosures for almost 200 thousand hryvnias and repaired the office canopy.

In addition to the above-mentioned Center, the Mykolaiv City Palace of Culture "Molodizhnyi" often uses the company's services.

In addition to repairing the enclosures, Mykolaiv has launched the project "Reconstruction of the Municipal Enterprise "Animal Protection Center", which aims to improve the situation with stray animals in the city. The main goal is not only to improve their living conditions, but also to improve the quality of life of animals and to form a culture of humane treatment among citizens. It is planned to spend almost UAH 60 million for this purpose.

Mykolaiv also announced a tender for the disposal of stray animals. More than sixty thousand hryvnias are planned to be spent from the budget . Vehicles allocated for the transportation of animal corpses must be equipped with waterproof closed bodies that are easily subjected to veterinary and sanitary treatment. The place where they were lying is subject to mandatory disinfection.
