The National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NAZK) uncovered false information in the 2025 asset declaration of Iryna Karamalak, an official with the Judicial Security Service in the Odesa region. The discrepancies concerned her father’s apartment, personal information, and an undeclared property transaction.

The Center for Public Investigations examined the NACP’s findings.

Specifically, the official incorrectly indicated the type of settlement at her place of registration and her mailing address. She also made a mistake with her identification number, entering her Ukrainian tax ID number in the field designated for a foreign identifier.

Some discrepancies concerned a 37.7-square-meter property in Odesa. Karamalak declared it as a room, although it is actually a one-room apartment that has been owned by her father since May 2025. In addition, the official incorrectly listed the property’s address and failed to fill in the field for the apartment number.

Another violation was the absence in the declaration of information regarding a supplementary agreement dated March 21, 2025. It provided for Karamalak’s waiver of payment for property rights to the real estate and the termination of the purchase and sale agreement concluded in 2023.

The official attributed the inaccuracies to errors made while filling out the declaration. The NACP took her explanation into account, but it did not refute the identified discrepancies.

At the same time, the agency found no evidence of illicit enrichment, unexplained assets, a conflict of interest, or an administrative or criminal offense. Based on the results of the review, the NACP decided to notify the official of the identified violations and allow her to submit a corrected declaration.
