800 million to be raised for reconstruction of water supply networks in Mykolaiv region

A global reconstruction of the water supply and sewerage system is planned in Ochakiv, Mykolaiv region. More than 800 million hryvnias are to be raised for this purpose.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the Dream ecosystem.

It is planned to reconstruct water supply and sewerage networks in Ochakiv, Mykolaiv region.

The project aims to restore and develop the community's life support infrastructure, taking into account the current and future needs of key consumers.

According to the description, the project involves the reconstruction of water supply and sewerage networks with the replacement of collectors. The existing collectors are made of a material that has low performance characteristics and a significant degree of wear, which leads to a significant number of emergencies.

The reconstruction project will be included in the Recovery and Development Plan of the Ochakiv City Territorial Community for the period up to 2027.

The project budget is UAH 856 million. Funding is planned to be raised by 2026.

The project was initiated by the Ochakiv City Council. The project has been implemented since February 2024 and is currently in need of funding. The estimated duration of the reconstruction is 36 months.

Also in the Mykolaiv region, in the city of Novyi Buh, it is planned to reconstruct sewer networks. It is planned to raise more than UAH 300 million for this purpose. The reconstruction project was partially funded by Germany. It is planned to reconstruct and develop the sewer system that was damaged by the military aggression of the Russian Federation.

In addition, Mykolaiv plans to raise UAH 6 billion to build a water filtration system. The goal of the project is to provide Mykolaiv with a stable and high-quality water supply through the construction of a pressure filtration system, which will improve the quality of drinking water and increase the reliability of water supply.
