The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated 49.4 million hryvnias for urgent emergency repair work on the protective dam on the Danube River in the Odesa region.

This was reported by the press office of the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture.

The funds will be transferred from the state budget’s reserve fund to the Odesa region as a grant.

“The condition of the protective dam requires an urgent response. The allocated funding will allow for the prompt commencement of emergency repair work and prevent the occurrence of a man-made emergency. This primarily concerns the safety of Izmail residents and the protection of areas located near the Danube,” said Vitaliy Kindrativ, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine.

Carrying out this work will strengthen the area’s protection against potential emergencies and ensure adequate living conditions for the population of the Odesa region.
