Russian troops shelled more than 25 settlements in Kherson region during the day. As a result of the attacks, 16 civilians were wounded and houses were damaged.

This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin.

From 22 to 23, the Russians continued to cover the Kherson region with drones, artillery and aircraft. At least 28 settlements of the region came under fire. Among them are Antonivka, Bilozerka, Stanislav, Berislav, Novovorontsovka, Dudchany, Kozatske and the city of Kherson.

Residential areas, critical and social infrastructure facilities were shelled. The shelling damaged 11 private houses, a gas pipeline, a garage and several cars.

According to official reports, 16 people were injured in the attacks, all of them wounded.

At around 10:40, Russian troops opened artillery fire on Kherson. Two women, aged 51 and 66, were hit - they sustained explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds to their limbs. Both were hospitalized.

However, this was only the beginning. In Bilozerka, where the enemy attacked from a drone the night before, a 41-year-old man sustained a chest wound and an explosive injury. On the morning of August 18, the village came under fire again: a whole family was injured - a 50-year-old man and two women aged 81 and 52. All of them had contusions, concussions and explosive injuries.

A series of attacks continued on the highways. At noon, a drone hit a civilian car near Klapay: A 38-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman sustained contusions and blast injuries. Almost at the same time, a 36-year-old local resident was wounded by shelling in the central district of Kherson.

Later, at about 13:30, the enemy attacked another car near Klapay. A 62-year-old woman and a 72-year-old man were seriously injured. And at 15:30, two Russian drones targeted women in Kherson itself, injuring 44- and 35-year-old women.

A 64-year-old man who was wounded on August 13 during an attack on Kherson was also hospitalized. On the same day, dozens of civilians in the region sustained contusions, explosive and shrapnel wounds.

Leaving their homes and heading into the unknown is the challenge that residents of the Korabel neighborhood, which is known in Kherson as "Ostrov," are facing today. Most of them stayed here even during the flooding after the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant was blown up. However, a series of Russian air strikes on the bridge connecting the "Island" to the city forced people to leave their homes for the first time. The neighborhood lost electricity, water and gas, and it was almost impossible to deliver humanitarian aid. The authorities called on residents to evacuate.
