Shelling in Kherson region: civilians killed and wounded and infrastructure damaged

Over the past day, on August 20, Antonivka, Komyshany, Zymivnyk, Bilozerka, Zelenivka, Nadezhdivka, Poniativka, Fedorivka, Rozlyv, Tomyna Balka, Sofiyivka, Sadove, Tokarivka, Beryslav, Mykolayivka, Odradokamyanka, Shylova Balka, Zmiivka, Zamozhne, Mykhaylivka, Dudchany, Shlyakhove, Vesele and the city of Kherson came under enemy fire and air strikes in Kherson region.

This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military District Administration Oleksandr Prokudin.

The official said that during the shelling of the region, the Russian occupiers hit educational and medical institutions, administrative buildings, a catering facility and a farm; residential areas of the region's settlements, including three high-rise buildings and 21 private houses. The occupants also damaged a gas pipeline, a water pipeline, a well and private cars.

According to Prokudin, one civilian was killed and 15 others were injured, including four children, as a result of Russian aggression in Kherson region.

Thus, in the village of Zmiivka, a local resident was fatally wounded in a drone attack. Also, on August 20, the Russian military shelled Kherson with artillery. As a result, a 49-year-old man sustained an acubarotrauma. At about 12:30 p.m., the occupiers attacked the village of Vesele in Kherson region using a drone. A 60-year-old woman was seriously injured in the yard of her house. She was hospitalized. In addition, civilians were injured by enemy UAVs: A 62-year-old resident of Kindiivka and a 36-year-old resident of Sadove. Both sustained shrapnel wounds while on the street. At around 17:40, Russian military attacked Antonivka using a UAV. They dropped explosives near a local store. The explosion injured four local residents. Three people were taken to the hospital, another was treated on the spot.
