The National Cashback program has been joined by 70 companies in the South. In total, more than 1,000 companies and 167 individual entrepreneurs took part in the program across the country.

This is evidenced by the data of the Opendatabot monitoring service.

Three of the companies on the list had Russian owners at the time of the full-scale invasion, and one of them is still owned by a citizen of the terrorist country. Most of the program participants are registered in Kyiv, Dnipro and Lviv regions.

Currently, 1,038 companies and 167 individual entrepreneurs participate in the National Cashback program. The program encourages consumers to buy Ukrainian products by returning 10% of the purchase price.

For example, 53 companies participate in the program in Odesa region, 12 in Mykolaiv region, and only 5 in Kherson region.

About a third of the participants work in the food industry - 326 companies. Another 17% are engaged in retail trade - 175 businesses, and wholesale trade accounts for 14% - 146 companies. The most active in the program were companies from Kyiv (231 participants), Dnipro (112 companies), and Lviv (96 companies). Kyiv (87 companies) and Kharkiv (76 companies) regions are also among the leaders.

The smallest number of participants came from the frontline regions: Kherson and Donetsk regions - 5 and 3 companies respectively. No companies from Luhansk region participated. However, three companies that previously had Russian owners, from Poltava, Cherkasy, and Odesa regions, have already lost this connection. The owner of the Odesa company obtained Ukrainian citizenship after the outbreak of full-scale war, which allowed the business to legally renounce its Russian affiliation.

However, one company participating in the National Cashback program is still owned by a Russian citizen. This is Embawood Ukraine LLC, which manufactures furniture and is registered in Sambir, Lviv region.

Last year, the company generated revenues of over UAH 180 million and a net profit of over UAH 10 million. It actively participates in government tenders, having won two tenders this year for a total of over UAH 914 thousand to supply furniture to municipal enterprises in Kyiv and Ukravtodor. The company's owner had already been in trouble for his ties to Russia before the full-scale invasion in 2021.

According to analysts, at the beginning of the full-scale war, 18,900 companies with Russian owners were registered in Ukraine.

Also, in the first eight months of 2024, almost 19 thousand new entrepreneurs registered in the south of the country. For example, 12839 sole proprietors were registered in Odesa region, 5096 in Mykolaiv region, and 1746 in Kherson region. After a sharp decline at the beginning of the invasion, the number of new registrations has stabilized and has been at a stable level for the second year.

In addition, 1.3 million company charters have been registered in Ukraine, of which 61% are publicly available. They can now be viewed through the Opendatabot website. According to analysts, checking the relevance of the charter is important before starting cooperation with new partners or contractors.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, foreigners from 101 countries have opened 3075 companies in Ukraine. Citizens are the most frequent business owners in Ukraine: Turkey - 396 companies, Uzbekistan - 312 companies, and Poland - 224 companies.

The largest number of companies with foreign owners are engaged in wholesale trade (30.7%), real estate transactions (6.7%), and computer programming (5.8%).
