Residents of Kherson region spread anti-Ukrainian propaganda

Two residents of the Kherson region are suspected of spreading anti-Ukrainian propaganda.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The post says that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office, two residents of Chornobaivka were served in absentia with a notice of suspicion of collaboration (Part 6 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, during the occupation of the village, the suspects carried out information activities in support of the Russian occupation regime and illegal armed groups in exchange for rubles. As members of the pro-Russian organization "Union of Mothers of Kherson", they were engaged in the dissemination of anti-Ukrainian propaganda contained in newspapers and booklets printed by the enemy. In particular, the materials were aimed at justifying the war waged by Russia against Ukraine, calling for citizenship of the aggressor country, as well as popularizing the occupation authorities, institutions and their representatives.

The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Kherson region.

Earlier it was reported that under the procedural supervision of the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office, an indictment was sent to court against a resident of the regional center on the fact of public calls for changing the boundaries of the territory or state border of Ukraine (Part 1 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The investigation established that the accused, declared as a local entrepreneur, in September 2022 gave an interview to journalists of a seized local radio station, which the occupiers used as a platform for spreading pro-Russian narratives. During the conversation, the man supported the Russian occupation of the region and emphasized the need to participate in a pseudo-referendum on the accession of Kherson region to the aggressor country.

Also, a native of Mykolaiv will be tried in Kherson region for spreading Russian propaganda.
