The water supply system in Mykolaiv is being reconstructed in connection with the construction of a new district heating network. It is planned to raise more than UAH 12 million for this purpose.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the Dream ecosystem.

Thus, it is planned to reconstruct sections of the water supply network on Pohranichnyi Street within Korabeliv Street and Marshal Vasilevsky Street. The project states that the purpose of the water supply system upgrade is to ensure uninterrupted and efficient water supply to this part of the city in the context of the construction of a new underground thermal infrastructure.

The project involves the modernization of existing networks to avoid possible emergencies, increase the reliability of the water supply system, and create favorable conditions for the development of urban infrastructure.

The budget of the reconstruction project is UAH 12.7 million, of which UAH 10.4 million will be spent on capital expenditures and UAH 2.2 million on operating expenses.

The total amount of confirmed sources of funding is 1.85%, i.e. UAH 234,908. The source of funding is public funds. The project is currently in preparation.

Currently, the construction of the water supply system is underway at six sites, and the work is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. The project was launched in 2023, and funding has already been allocated for its implementation. However, there are currently no funds for the construction of six more sections. The new water pipeline is being laid in parallel to the existing one to avoid blockages during pipe replacement and not to interrupt the work of Mykolaivvodokanal.

In Mykolaiv, local government representatives recently met with the newly appointed head of the State Agency for Infrastructure Recovery and Development of Ukraine, Sergiy Sukhomlyn, to discuss the restoration of the city's water supply system. The meeting focused on restoring drinking water supply in the city.

In April, the Government allocated UAH 125.5 million from the state budget reserve fund for water supply in Mykolaiv. The funding will be provided under the relevant budget program from the state budget reserve fund.
