On August 22, at 16:30 local time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces (AFU) hit the Russian railroad ferry Conro Trader in the port of Kavkaz (Russia) with a Neptune missile, allegedly with a Neptune missile.
According to the Crimean Wind Telegram channel, this was the last Russian ferry to bring fuel to Crimea.
Babenkov, the head of the Temryuk district of the Krasnodar Territory, said that when the missile hit the ferry, it was carrying 30 railroad tanks with fuel, each containing fifty tons. Therefore, the explosion was so powerful that it was clearly heard in Kerch. A large column of smoke and flames was also visible in Kerch. There were 12 fire brigades at the scene, and a fire train was sent to the port. It was not possible to extinguish the ferry, which was heavily burning, and it sank.

This is the second time that the JFO hit theConro Trader ferry. But the first time, the ferry was without fuel cars, but it was repaired. This time, the ferry was destroyed. Local authorities reported that there were five people on the ferry, their fate is unknown, but according to a source of Krymskiy Vetr, four people were admitted to the Kerch city hospital who were injured in the explosion on the territory of the Kavkaz port. One of the victims is in extremely serious condition. Three are in moderate condition.
Due to the hit to the ferry, traffic on the Kerch Bridge was blocked for several hours. Crimean Wind also reported that after the ferry was hit, long lines for fuel began at gas stations in Crimea.
The Kerch ferry will be temporarily suspended until the consequences are eliminated in the port of Kavkaz, said Anatoly Tsurkin, head of the Association of Freight Carriers and Forwarders of Crimea, former Minister of Transport of Crimea.
"We ask the carriers that used to use this route to move through the land corridor to Crimea," Tsurkin said.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have not yet commented on the ferry's damage.
