Coronavirus vaccines delivered to Mykolaiv region

Vaccines have been delivered to Mykolaiv region to ensure continuous work on COVID-19 prevention. The vaccines were brought for both children and adults.

This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The center's specialists delivered 2396 doses of Comirnaty vaccines, produced in Belgium, to each medical institution that provides immunization. In addition, 200 doses of vaccines were donated for vaccinating children.

To ensure that the vaccines reached the vaccination points in Mykolaiv, Pervomaisk, Voznesensk, Bashtanka and Mykolaiv district on time, a special refrigerated truck traveled tens of kilometers, following all the requirements of the cold chain. This allowed us to maintain the proper quality of the drugs, guaranteeing their effectiveness in protecting the population.

According to the Center's staff, vaccination remains the most effective way to fight infectious diseases. Each vaccine helps to reduce the risks of disease and complications, so doctors urge everyone who has not yet been vaccinated not to postpone it and take care of their health.

In early September, new fatalities from coronavirus infection were reported in Mykolaiv region. Seven new deaths related to COVID-19 have been confirmed. In total, since the beginning of the observation, 2843 cases of the disease have been registered in the region. 150 newly infected people were detected in primary healthcare facilities and another 130 in specialized institutions.

Since mid-August, mass cases of coronavirus have been reported in Mykolaiv. A total of 1,040 cases were registered, of which 128 people required hospitalization, a little more than 10% of the total number of cases.

Vaccination is available at every healthcare facility in the city, and anyone who has had more than six months since their last vaccination can get a second shot.

The Ministry of Health has also reported an increase in COVID-19 cases. However, so far, they see no reason to introduce restrictive anti-epidemic measures.
